After ROTC, how long it takes to become a Green Beret in the Army?
Are the Army Rangers and Green Berets of the same thing?
"Green Berets" are NCOs and officers who have passed the Special Forces assessment and selection program and reclassified in a 18-MOS series on the termination of the Special Forces Qualification Course. They are usually assigned to one of the 5 groups of active service at the end training. "Army Rangers" are military members assigned to 75 Regiment, either at headquarters or in one of three Ranger BNS. Many Green Berets are "Ranger qualified" or "Ranger tabs, but the focus and mission profile of Special Forces groups and the 75th Ranger Regiment differ in a very extreme. It would not be able to "prove" Special Forces (attend Special Forces Assessment and Selection) until the Department the Army put a call out of their age group – usually about three years after being commissioned. Then, should attend the course 18A and allegedly training would be assigned to a group and get your year or two of the team management. If you think this is what you want to do, you can try knock Jump School and Ranger School (if it is an option) while you are still a cadet. Branch selection also will have some relation to their potential Success – Combat Arms think – although I know that at least one of LTC that is both SF and Ranger tabs that came from the Chemical Corps
